Why Hire a Professional Makeup Artist?
How important is your face on your wedding day? Will you love your wedding photos when you look back on them for decades to come? All eyes are on you on your wedding day. What could possibly be more important than the way you look? Will people remember the flowers? The chicken? The table decorations? You and your attendants are the stars of the show. Don't sacrifice your most precious photographic memories.
As a professionally trained and experienced makeup artist, I understand exactly what needs to be done to make a face beautiful for a special event. There is so much more to professional makeup than meets the eye. Professional makeup artistry is the art of illusion. Meaning, we do things that may not make sense until you see the final result. I carry a large arsenal of professional products not available to the public and have been trained on how to use them. I understand the power of a green corrector or the effectiveness of a paint pot or the job of a silicone matte. I understand the art of mixing. Sometimes I mix 3 different products together for someone's foundation formula. The result is not something you can buy at a counter.
As a professional artist, I have studied color theory and learned through experience how colors work. Whether or not to use a certain color does not depend on trends. It depends on cause and effect. It depends on chemistry between someone's skin, the cosmetic, and the all powerful LIGHT. And how do I know certain colors go with others? Because I understand the color wheel, the relationship between colors, and the camera's view. I understand that shimmer reflects light and that it must be placed carefully.
My job is to create an effect. So my focus is to work towards many different goals at once: achieving glowing, flawless and stable foundation, using the correct eye technique to bring out the best in that person, choosing the best lip color for your personality and lip size, choosing the right formulation for oily skin vs. dry skin, etc.
I am also makeup educated. I have watched and learned from the masters and continue to read their words and view their work in all the makeup magazines I receive monthly. I regularly attend professional makeup shows, master classes, and receive the latest updates on new makeup products, techniques, and news. I do the work so you don't have to.
So please keep all of this in mind when you are planning your wedding and examining your budget. How much are you spending on flowers? Invitations? Decorations? Will you be enjoying any of these things after your wedding day? Will you be excited about your wedding album and the glorious entrance you made down the aisle?
Let Aunt Sally or your friend's sister enjoy herself and don't ask her to do everyone's makeup. Leave it to a professional…and rest assured.
Warm Regards,
Jennifer
